Pricing
Priced per production. Never per member.
Your cast and crew are volunteers. Charging a society by the head is the first objection a treasurer raises, and they are right to raise it — so we do not do it, on any plan, at any size. Everything below is in US dollars.

Production Pack
$129 · per production
Paid once, for one production. It does not renew and there is nothing to cancel.
- One production, everything unlocked
- Unlimited company members
- 2,500 credits for the assistant
- An invoice with your group’s name on it
A season
Season
$79 / month
Worth it at three productions a year and not before. If you are doing one, we will tell you to buy the Pack.
- Unlimited productions
- Unlimited company members
- 4,000 credits a month
- The archive of your past shows
- Cancel any time
We will recommend the cheaper one. A group doing one show a year on Season is a refund request waiting to happen and a group we then lose. If your season does not justify it, the Pack is the answer and we would rather say so on this page than in an email afterwards.
Before you buy anything
Some of what those plans describe is not finished
The Half Call is in early build. The scheduling and company workspace are the part being built now; reading a script into units and cues, sides, line learning and the assistant are specified and not yet working. Read what is built so far and buy when the part you care about is standing up — not on the strength of this page. The thirty days are there precisely so you can check.
What is included, on every paid plan
There is no tier where a company member costs extra, and no tier where the paperwork is worse.

About those credits
The assistant costs us money every time it reads something, so there has to be a number attached. But the number is a ceiling on something going badly wrong, not a meter running while you work. On our own modelling a whole production spends roughly a fifth of the Pack’s 2,500 — deliberately, so that a company finishes a show with credits left over and never thinks about them again.
Nothing you do without the assistant costs a credit. The scheduler, the call sheets, the availability grid, the budget, the members — none of them touch a model, so none of them touch the count.
If a group ever does exhaust them, a top-up is $15 for 500 credits, and we would rather it stayed rare. Nothing tops up automatically. A surprise charge landing on a volunteer treasurer is the fastest way to lose a company for good.
The questions a treasurer actually asks
Is that price plus tax?
Yes. Sales tax or VAT is added at the checkout at your local rate, and the invoice shows it separately. We sell through a merchant of record, which means they are the legal seller and they carry the tax across every country we sell into. Your card details never touch us.
Why are you pricing in dollars when we are in Britain?
Because we sell on both sides of the Atlantic and one price in one currency is honest, where a maintained pair of price lists quietly drifts apart. Your card issuer converts at the rate of the day. We would rather you saw the same number as everyone else.
Can we get an invoice? We cannot pay by card.
Every purchase produces an invoice with the group’s name on it, which is what the accounts need. If your group genuinely cannot pay by card at all — groups attached to a church, a school or a registered charity often cannot — tell us before you start and we will work out how, rather than leaving you to find out at the checkout that we hadn’t thought about you.
What happens if the payment lapses mid-run?
Nothing disappears and nobody is locked out. The production stops accepting new work and stays entirely readable, printable and sendable — the schedule, the call sheets, the sides, the budget. Taking call sheets away from twenty-eight people in production week over an expired card earns nothing and ends a relationship. We do not do it.
Are we tied in?
No. No annual contract, no minimum term, no notice period. A society that folds should not be pursued for eleven months of fees. Season cancels with one button; the Pack was never a subscription in the first place.
Does the trial turn into a subscription?
No. There is no card on file to charge. At thirty days you decide, and if you decide not to, nothing is deleted and nothing is hidden — the company stays readable.
Is $129 reasonable against what we already spend?
Judge it against a night’s royalties rather than against other software: an amateur licence commonly runs to somewhere around $75–$155 per performance plus a percentage of the box office. If The Half Call costs your group more than one night of that, we have priced it wrong — and we would like to hear so.
Take the numbers to the people who approve them.
